Grifter or Gipper?

Is Trump a grifter? Was Ronald Reagan a Gipper? According to the dictionary, a grifter is basically a conman. The term “Gipper” came from Ronald Reagan’s short-term acting career when he plays a football star from the 1920’s. So far into Trump's presidency, there's been more mischief and golf than actual change. Although Ronald Reagan wasn't the coolest of presidents, the scandals under his control were less scandalous. In this article,  Reagan was the Gipper. Trump is the grifter., written by Max Boot, he evaluates some of the problems under Ragans control and some under Trump's circus ring. I think the writer did a good job of assessing issues they've both experienced under their administration. Max Boot is arguing claims that president Donald Trump is actually better than Ronald Reagan. Boot says in the beginning of the article that supporters believed that Trump was the second coming of Ronald Reagan” but after he was elected, supporters think he became better. Boot analyzes the circumstances under which Reagan was elected and how he handled those situations versus how president Trump has assessed those same problems under his control. I think this article is a good indicator that a majority of Trump supporters don’t do research. The research Boot inquires conveys the truth that under the circumstances, Trump is clearly less capable of making a greater change than Ronald Reagan. For example, Boot writes a list of problems Trump has touched on, such as building a wall, but has yet to actually accomplish. I think Boot does a good job of proving the point that Donald Trump is no better than Ronald Reagan.

D A C A Say What? This past year, a threat to DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, has hit the press with the possible threat of rescinding. This would mean a large number of children and adults could be deported. DACA was established by Barack Obama in June of 2012 with plans to revise DACA requirements so that other illegal immigrants can also be covered. Texas has a very large amount of DACA recipients and a number of them are not only students but teachers as well. Five years after this was settled, President Trump has made threats to eliminate DACA which would considerably change our everyday lives in America. This article is a great example of who and what will be affected if Trump decides to abolish the act. https://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2018/01/29/579682676/nearly-9-000-daca-teachers-face-an-uncertain-future

It's about time we figure out health care

This article really opened my eyes to what healthcare is really about... Money. I've been blessed with good insurance but even after paying more than $300 a month for the "good kind" of insurance, I still have to pay $800 or more out of pocket for certain things. So far, I haven't encountered a problem with being billed twice or getting charged for something that never happened, but this problem is happening more and more every year. The American Hospital Association created 'The Patient Bill of Rights' in the 1970's and amended it in 1992. This bill of rights was written so that people have the right to be treated properly no matter their financial situation and given the proper healthcare treatment. Since this was written, states have been given the ability to redefine and rewrite these rights, leaving our current rules in healthcare confusing. I strongly agree that there should be a financial bill of rights in healthcare for everyone so that patients k...
